Tantalum is processed into tantalum bar of different specifications through processes such as smelting, annealing and cold rolling/cold drawing, making it a valuable high-performance material that is indispensable in applications that require high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and high strength.

Application

Tantalum bar are widely used in various high-temperature and high-strength high-performance industrial fields due to their high melting point, low vapor pressure, high density and good electrical conductivity. Different grades of tantalum bar have their own unique performance advantages due to their different chemical composition and purity.

TA1 tantalum bar contain more than 99.95% tantalum and are mainly used in chemical equipment, medical implants, and high-temperature resistant components in the aerospace field. TA2 tantalum bar have a slightly lower tantalum purity than Ta1, but still have good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. TA2 tantalum bar are relatively low in cost and suitable for large-scale applications, such as manufacturing chemical equipment, capacitor housings, electronic electrodes and other fields.

Tantalum-tungsten alloy bar add a small amount of tungsten, usually between 2.5% and 10%, which enhances the strength and hardness of tantalum plates while maintaining good corrosion resistance and conductivity. They are mainly used in the manufacture of high-temperature furnace components and rocket engine parts.

Tantalum-niobium alloy bar add niobium to enhance the ductility and toughness of the material while maintaining the high corrosion resistance of tantalum. This alloy has excellent performance under low temperature conditions and is suitable for the manufacture of superconducting materials, cryogenic engineering components, and cryogenic storage equipment in aerospace.

  1. Chemical equipment: Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, tantalum rods are widely used in the chemical industry, such as reactors, heat exchangers, acid pumps, pipe linings and other equipment, and are particularly suitable for handling strong acidic or alkaline substances.
  2. Electronics industry: Tantalum rods are used to manufacture high-performance capacitors, diffusion barrier layers of semiconductor devices, and other electronic components due to their good conductivity and low vapor pressure.
  3.  Aerospace: The high melting point, high strength and corrosion resistance of tantalum rods make them widely used in the aerospace field, such as rocket engine components, high-temperature furnace components and other high-temperature resistant structural materials.
  4. Vacuum equipment: Due to its low vapor pressure and high-temperature stability, tantalum rods are used in vacuum furnaces, vacuum evaporators and other equipment to ensure the stability of the material in a vacuum environment.
  5. Nuclear industry: Tantalum rods are used to manufacture structural materials and protective shielding materials in nuclear reactors due to their high density and good corrosion resistance.
